A White Sunday Before ChristmasThe view from our front window is like a Christmas card tonight. We are having bitter, windy cold. The snow started very quickly, but on a Sunday afternoon, didn’t cause as much damage as it might have on a weekday. Tomorrow morning’s commute may be a nightmare, however. Freezing rain is predicted overnight. We’ll hope the forecasters are wrong this time. Many snow lovers would probably prefer to have this white stuff on Christmas. We are looking forward to a family get-together and can do without that hazard. It’s 30 degrees F. on our carport now and the high for tomorrow is expected to be 33 degrees F. As long as our power stays on, we’ll be okay. I miss having an auxiliary source of heat as I did for many years, but can live without the blackened curtains and walls that a woodstove can cause, not to mention the air pollution I’m beginning to feel a modicum of control over this computer from time to time. Today has been a good day, spent arranging pictures to include with holiday greetings and printing letters with a couple of poems on the back, on bright colored paper. So far, so good. I hope I’m not jinxing my limited success.
Most all of my holiday printing is done and the printer has kept threatening that it’s running out of black ink, but keeps on keeping on. I’m sure they sell more cartridges if you run to the store the minute the printer tells you it’s getting low. I’m on to them and know that if you tap the cartridge you can get the last bit of ink out of it.
