Ramblings of a SickieI’m a little green around the gills tonight, to coin a cliche’. I’ll try not to let that affect my communication. It could be that a flu bug bit me--I haven’t felt tip-top for a couple of weeks. Our weather hasn’t helped, nor has the fact that I don’t have sense enough to lie down and be sick since I’ve retired. If I don’t have to go to work anyway, what’s the point? My Holiday greetings were all mailed today and I took my latest travel journal to the critique group, while Al critiqued a copy I left for him. Tonight or tomorrow I will tweak the little suggestions into the manuscript and post it to the travel pages on my website."Whirlwind Trip Through California” will soon be available for anyone interested to read. We tried out the DVD player on our new television set for the first time tonight. Al had some very old home movies transferred to a DVD disk and we watched part of it. By using the TV instead of a computer to view it, we have the benefit of the remote with its Pause, Fast Forward, and other settings.
I’ll have to investigate the cost of having some of my old VHS tapes of family activities transferred to DVD’s. I know the tapes have limited life, and some are getting pretty old now. I don’t know whether it’s age or use that wears them out. They haven’t been used much. Nonetheless, I’m sure the DVD’s have a longer life expectancy than the VHS tapes. Just another project for which to utilize my round tuit.
