Christmas EveThe sun is trying to peek through the cloud cover this afternoon. On this last shopping day before Christmas, our weather is fairly pleasant. It’s not raining, snowing, hailing, or icing up anywhere around here. As you may note, I’m not out among the shoppers. I hope those days are gone forever. One Christmas Eve day I remember, when I worked until Noon, I was crossing a Seattle street, arms loaded with packages, when a car whose driver was looking elsewhere bore down on me. I took a flying leap out of his way, without dropping any packages. I was probably even wearing high heels in those days. I’m certain I couldn’t do that today, even without the high heels. We will be meeting Al’s sister and brother-in-law later this afternoon in the tiny metropolis of Molalla, for a Christmas Eve Chinese dinner. There is a back route from here that keeps us off the freeways most of the way, so traffic should not be bad. I heard from all my sisters by email yesterday that all is well with them. And, although my daughter has a cold, my children are doing okay. As the year is coming to an end, it’s good to know that.
To my readers, known and unknown, Happy Holidays! May the New Year bring peace to our world.
