Unexpected Accolade

This afternoon the winter session of my writing class met for the first time. As is usual, the instructor asked each of us to talk a little about our expectations from the class. When my turn came, she asked me to talk about my books a bit. I held them up and gave a very brief description of how each one came about. She always likes to have me point out that the class talked me out of naming my relationship book, “Dating in Your Dotage.” I believe a class member suggested the title I actually used, “Find Romance in Later Life,” but I’m not sure exactly who it was.

When I held up my poetry book, “My Muse Has Many Moods,” one of the three new class members said she has the book and loves it. She bought five copies so she could share it with others. Well, that really brightened up a dull, gray day--for me, at least. Considering that I still have about 200 of the 500 we originally printed, that’s possibly the biggest sale the book had at one time.

Both books can be purchased through my website or at amazon.com or several other online booksellers. Marketing is not my long suit, but I can’t waste an opportunity such as this.
