Just a Note

Just to let you know we’ll be gone for at least two weeks, starting tomorrow. Tonight, I’ve been packing and, in between times, peeking at the webcam in Kruger Park. We’ve seen impalas, birds, water buffalo, and a lone elephant, all this evening. Earlier today, a hippo was bathing in the watering hole with a bird waiting nearby. It’s better than a trip to the zoo, since we don’t have to go out in the rain.

Hoping to find the sun down Mexico way, we will drive to San Francisco and board a cruise ship there on Sunday. I doubt that I’ll have an opportunity to post to this blog while we’re gone. I am taking my laptop, but mostly so that we can look at digital photos we take and I can write journal entries about the trip. Writing in longhand has become a real drag with arthritic fingers.

I’ll miss the animals in South Africa. The rates for getting on line on shipboard are not reasonable enough to encourage that type of activity. Besides, there’s a lot of free entertainment on board. I’ll use online time for a few emails to family.
