A Two-Nap Day

Today was a two-nap day. Because I had a late morning nap, I was able to enjoy my early afternoon writing class. I took two “quirky” poems to share and they were very well received. Quirky is fun and not hard to write, if I happen to be in that sort of mood. One of the verses I wrote at the workshop I attended on Saturday. The other I wrote ten or eleven years ago at another poetry workshop.

People who don’t write poetry or verse are often in awe of those who do. They act much as I do in the presence of a good musician or painter. I think so much of “talent” comes from an unknown source, and I don’t take credit for it, but I enjoy being complimented.

A late afternoon nap made it possible for me to read accumulated email and respond to some of it. I had quizzed my sisters about their allergies because I intend to see if I can learn if I have food allergies that are creating some of my problems. They gave me ideas to work with. The hard part, I suspect, is that the foods we crave most are the ones we’re most likely to be allergic to, or so I’ve heard.

Sometime in the next few days I have to take my car to D.E.Q. to renew my license. I always dread that chore and anticipate that it’ll be much worse than it usually is. I guess I should try to do it before the end of the week and get it over with.
