A Pleasant SundayWe had a wonderful afternoon with my cousin, his wife, and his mother, my aunt. He and his mother would make a good vaudeville team. We had a great dinner and a fun card game with lots of laughs. Before dinner, we spent some time reminiscing and looking at old pictures, some of family members who are no longer with us. Aunt Vergie has lived in Chico, California for most of her adult life and is having trouble adjusting to the climate change after moving up here. At 88, her blood circulation and her thin stature make it hard for her to keep warm. She has always been good-natured and had a wonderful sense of humor. Those qualities have not deserted her as her memory begins to fail. My aunt gave me a couple of pictures I’d never seen before of my parents, my mother’s siblings and her stepmother. She has an old snapshot, also, of me and two of my younger sisters, that was taken before the youngest sister was born.
Tomorrow I’ll try to get some of the pictures onto my computer so I can share them with my sisters.
