Rainy Day FuneralThe skies are dreary and drippy, appropriate for this time of year. Also, it’s the kind of day to say goodbye to a good friend. Funerals are not a favorite way for me to spend time. I hope there will be no funeral for me. A happy, wake-type memorial celebration of life is my style. But, when loved ones who need funerals need my support, I will be there. Today is such a day. There will be funny little stories and lots of laughter after the service, I’m sure. One little story we may remember is about a missing button. I found a button that almost matched to replace the missing one on Al’s suit jacket. After I sewed both buttons on tightly, he reached in the pocket and found the original missing button. Oh well, he said he hadn’t worn the suit for ten years. If it’s another ten years before the next wearing, it will be forgotten by then.
It’s time to be on my way.
