At the End of the Day

(There’s a phrase that’s overused today).

‘Tis the end of another lazy day--actually a two-nap day. Unbelievable. Sleep is the best thing I do when I can breathe. It was also another lovely spring day. We didn’t even have enough clouds for a decent sunset.

I did some writing, mostly tedious reworking of memoir stories to condense and make them more readable, I hope. It’s quite likely that even close family members will not want to slog through the whole ten years of my first marriage to an alcoholic. So I’ve decided to tell the story of the meeting, the wedding, and a few highlights. Then I’ll cut to the end of the marriage, exactly ten years later.

The next dilemma is whether to write these stories in first person or third. I intend to consult with my critique group and writing class and get their ideas.

For some distraction before bedtime, I’ll watch Boston Legal. The acting on that show is even better than the writing. Of course, it’s not very realistic, but realism is not that entertaining.
