A Chilly Evening

My cough must be getting better, because I actually have a little energy left over to accomplish something productive. Today I produced a bit of writing, six or eight packed boxes, and some closet and cupboard reorganization. I also made a quick trip to the grocery store and found a shortcut to get to the King City Apartments from here that will be helpful when we move. Every time I sat down to rest, I shredded a few more old bills. I still have old tax returns to shred, but I can watch TV and do those. I don’t want to read them and cry over all that spilled money.

Al collected a carload of boxes from the liquor store today, and did a lot of sorting and straightening out in his shop area. We will be storing packed boxes out there until we can move them. I’m taking a positive attitude that this place will sell soon. Moving is difficult enough, without having it dragged out for months. We are tossing out and/or giving away belongings hand over fist. It will be a relief not to be weighed down with so much stuff.

I do know that my memory is getting bad enough now that I’ll probably be looking for stuff we no longer have for some time. Every time I send a bunch of clothes to Goodwill, I can’t remember what they were and wonder what happened to some of them.

We have to cover our new little tomato plants since it may freeze tonight. We probably won’t be here to eat the tomatoes, but someone will.
