Travel, Moving, etc.

Today is the 78th anniversary of my parents’ wedding. If they had not married in 1928, I might not have arrived in 1929, or ever for that matter. And so, appropriately, I remember the date.

I enjoyed reading four or five of my trip journals to the critique group this afternoon. They made suggestions and I will tweak the stories and start putting them up on the travel page of my website. That will give me an excuse to sit down periodically while we’re preparing to move.

The plan now is to start moving on the 8th of July, and the movers will take the large furniture on the 10th. We should have most all the boxes and smaller pieces moved by then

One unusual feature we noticed when we visited the apartment is a mail slot in the front door. I asked if the mail is actually delivered to the door, and was told that it is. Wow! It’s been a while since I’ve had that kind of service. I’ll have to swim every day for exercise, if I don’t even have to walk to the mailbox.

A month from now the worst will be over, but we’ll probably still be emptying boxes.
