We Are Finally Moo-ving

(Not my Cup of Tea)

The manager of King City Apartments called early this evening to let us know the painting, cleaning, etc. will begin on our place tomorrow. The former occupant moved out early. There is a good possibility we may be able to start moving in on the Fourth of July, four days earlier than we had been told before. Even a day or two earlier will be a big help for us old folks who move slowly.

I was delighted to discover that many of the address changes can be done on line. That reduces the number of times I have to talk to a recording or sit on hold listening to lousy music on the phone. I got most of them done in about an hour. I was even able to change my driver’s license address, auto registration, and voter registration. Verizon, of course, needed to be contacted by phone, and I learned we will have our same phone number at the new location.

Mother Nature is putting on a great sunset for us tonight. We won’t have a Western view from the master bedroom at the new place. Probably my computer will be in there, but that’s not definitely been decided yet.

While cleaning the oven this morning, I finally realized, after several days, the three big black spots I’ve been trying to scour off, are places where the enamel has chipped off. I’ve always kept the bottom of the oven covered with foil, so those spots may have been there for a long time.

The mood in this household has improved immeasurably in the last few hours. I had a good swim about 8:00 and will probably sleep well.
