More Wait and Hurry Up

At 4:00 p.m. today the carpet cleaners had still not appeared at our apartment. Another glitch was that some grout had not yet dried so the master bathroom could be cleaned. Now it will be at least Wednesday afternoon before we can start moving in. I have an eye appointment Wednesday at Noon, which makes life even more interesting. However, since most of our first month’s rent is free, we can’t really complain. Actually we could, but it wouldn’t be cool, as they say.

I packed a few more boxes today and finished cleaning oven grates and the broiler pan. Now the oven is so shiny and sparkling I hate to leave it.

I was so excited about the possibility of starting the move tomorrow I only slept four hours last night. I had a couple of short naps, but I don’t seem to be running on all cylinders tonight. We were playing cards and both making such dumb mistakes we finally gave up.

I made address change postcards today and used a few of them. Most changes have been made by phone or email, but there are a few snail mail holdouts.

We had another great sunset tonight. Most of the sky on two sides of the house was pink. It was still warmer weather than I prefer today, but we’re promised cooler temperatures (in the 70’s) the rest of the week.
