By George or Jupiter or Whomever, I Think We’re Going to Make ItWe are nearly out of this place now. We took time out today (a couple of hours) to have birthday cake and ice cream for my son-in-law. He and my daughter, my son and his wife all came over to see our new place and visit for a bit. I almost forgot Handsome, my son’s big dog, who takes part in most family activities. He eats what I can’t finish and licks the melted ice cream off my plate. I’m sure it will be weeks before we get unpacked and can actually find things in our new home. Today we did a little unpacking and a lot of making space for the larger furniture that will be moved tomorrow morning by van. Coordinating all the technical changes (cable service, phone service, etc.) will be stressful. Little details like installing an up-to-date connection for the electric dryer before the laundry appliances are delivered are annoying and time consuming. I’ll probably do a little more packing before I call it a night. Last minute odds and ends need to be tossed into boxes to be carried away. Al does the carrying, for which I am very thankful. He took our elderly neighbor lady grocery shopping in the late afternoon today and fell asleep in the car while waiting for her. She couldn’t remember where he was parked and had an entourage leading her around and trying to find him. As he described the scene, it was pretty funny. I can understand her confusion because she has at least a dozen different people who take her on errands. I don’t know how she can even remember whom she was with, much less where they parked.
The next few days we may not have internet service hooked up, so the blogs won’t get posted, or probably written, for that matter. But we’ll be back.
