Farewell to Disembodied Voices

I’m delighted to note that AOL has an article this evening about a few progressive companies in this country who’ve actually noticed that some of us human beings prefer to speak to other human beings on the phone when we are attempting to avail ourselves of services. Eureka! Is there hope that service will be reincarnated? Please let it happen in my lifetime.

Even when you do get to talk to a real human voice, as I did last week, there is no guarantee that anything they tell you will actually happen. I’m still waiting to hear from a technician who might possibly get me hooked up to Broadband DSL. I’ve been working on that project since the move a month ago.

I know, I know, I shouldn’t be carping about such trivialities when there are plans afoot to blow as many of us as possible to bits. I’m glad to have done the traveling I have, and probably would not do as much in the future, even without the news we heard today. Flying isn’t really fun anymore, for many reasons.
