Leftover Moving ChoresIn spite of a tendency to want to take a nap every time I sat down today, I managed to get a few things done. I took inventory of the boxes of cleaning supplies in the laundry room and under the sinks and concluded it would be a lifetime supply if I were twenty. I have already reduced the huge supply of canned goods in the pantry and am working on eating as much as I can of what is left. Every time we move anything around, little dark spots appear on the carpet. I have some great stuff that I pour on the spot, rub in with a brush, and vacuum after it dries. I removed all of those little spots I could find and vacuumed all the carpet. Hanging pictures is the chore I keep putting off--it seems so overwhelming. Maybe if I don’t try to put them all up, I can make it less whelming. And, of course, there are still a few boxes of stuff to unpack and put away. I estimate I also have office supplies to last for fifty or sixty years. Half of the pound box of rubber bands I bought about ten years ago is still around. Who knew how many rubber bands were in a pound?
All in all, it was a satisfactory day that began with meeting a new friend. More about that later.
