Happy Anniversary, King City

The neighborhood I’ve lived in for the past two months is celebrating its fortieth anniversary this weekend. There will be an arts and crafts fair tomorrow morning in the Town Hall, just below my apartment. Starting at Noon there will be live music in a tent in the parking lot. We may be able to hear the music from the deck outside the living room. If not, we can walk down and listen

Tonight was Floyd’s official birthday celebration at a daughter’s house. Two daughters and a son were there with their spouses and children. Everyone laughed and talked a lot and seemed to be having a good time. The food was certainly good and the gifts appropriate. The daughter and son-in-law’s house was difficult to find, so I made a dry run in the afternoon while Floyd was working. I found my way up there with the aid of Mapquest, but got lost on the way back. Tonight, we only missed one turn on the way and got there just five minutes late or so. On the way back this time, we had less trouble.

Before the yard and garage sales close down for the winter, I need to hit a few and look for fireplace tools. If I don’t find any there, I should be able to get them at Goodwill or one of the other charitable resale places. The evenings are starting to get chilly, and it will soon be time for a fire now and then to take off the chill.
