Daily RoutinesToday I went over some of my travel journals and tweaked them a bit here and there. I noticed that the level of enjoyment of each trip was reflected in the tone of the reports of our activities. There’s really no remedy for that. I’m also still editing memoir articles and stories. It’s good to be spending time on writing chores while still being able to keep up laundry, meals and other tasks. My white- glove-test cleaning standards have been lowered until our housekeeping helper starts. A maintenance person for the apartments appeared today and fixed our leaking toilet, the closet doors that were hanging ajar, and a metal strip that tacks the carpet down going from the dining room into the uncarpeted kitchen. As of tonight, we have no major chores hanging fire. So, we went to the Town Hall next door tonight and played Bingo. We had no luck at all, but enjoyed watching those around us winning. They play a wide variety of Bingo games for about two hours and it’s a challenge to keep up. It’s sponsored by King City’s very active Lions Club. They have many fund-raising activities, including picking up newspapers every Tuesday morning for recycling. We just put them on the doorstep Monday night and they’re gone in the morning. Next month they’ll have a bazaar, also.
Floyd still works a few hours several days a week. Obviously, he’s having a harder time retiring than I did, but he works in his own business that his son is now running.
