Keep on WritingI’m feeling unusually energetic for this time of night. Perhaps it’s the prospect of having someone else clean my house tomorrow. That can really put pep in my step. Floyd got in nine holes of golf before the rain started this morning. I swam in mid-afternoon, after reading part of the Sunday paper, and doing a bit of laundry. Before dinner, we played a couple of practice bridge hands. We haven’t been doing that lately, so I was afraid I’d forgotten what little I knew. However, it wasn’t as bad as I anticipated. But it still isn’t very good and I’m too chicken to expose myself to real bridge players. I’ve been re-arranging bedding so we’ll have a comfortable guest bed. I’m finding even more stuff for Goodwill. Eventually, maybe we can get rid of enough surplus junk to have some surplus space.
Memoir stories took up some of my time today. Trying to get them gathered together and edited, etc. is a big job I hope to finish eventually. Then I can decide how, or if, I should publish them. I’m going to run a possible foreword or introduction past my critique group Tuesday. It’s something I wrote for friends who croned me on my 70th birthday. They asked for a summary of my life, by decades. There is still lots of writing to do as I push closer to the 80th anniversary of my birth.
