New HardwareToday I purchased a new all-in-one printer, copier, scanner. It took most of the day to pick it out, get it home, set it up, discover I couldn’t install the printer cartridges, take it back, and go through the whole routine again. I must say it was gratifying that it took three tall young clerks to figure out how to put the cartridges in. Silly me! I forgot that computer designers do not operate with human logic. It seemed logical to me that the identification of the cartridges would be on the front where you could read it. Not so. When they are properly installed, the identification is hidden. However, I’m sure it will be worth all the hassle. The printer is faster, the scanner is more useful and I haven’t tried the copier yet, but trust it has been improved also. It appears I may not have time to do enough studying to make an intelligent purchase of a digital camera before I go to Seattle. I’ve had great luck with disposable cameras and may rely on one of those. My new combination machine has slots for the cards in digital cameras, so that will be fun to play with when I get time. It looks like we’re in for rain for the next several days. My California sister might go into shock if we had a day like yesterday when she arrives on Wednesday, so it’s just as well.
Tomorrow I have to get my tires rotated, my hair cut, and go to my writing critique group. If all goes well, I’ll get it done.
