Heady Stuff

On November 7th, in my 77th year, not only was the first member of a new generation in our family born, making me a great grand aunt, but nearly every one of my choices on the ballot prevailed. Pretty heady stuff. I have voted for losers for many years, but I persevered and never gave up. Not only did my candidates win, but the ballot measures in my state won or lost as I had voted, in most cases.

No matter who becomes our next president, I fear we have a muddy road ahead, making these victories bittersweet.

Today I broke down and bought a pressure cooker. I’ve been without one for five years or more, and it’s a handy tool for a reluctant cook. Cooking is almost a necessity for anyone who wants to eat a healthy diet these days. Allegedly, a pressure kettle preserves more of the vitamins and minerals in the food because of the short time it takes to steam it under pressure.

Later tonight I hope to get some revisions made on recent writing projects. After I watch Jeopardy, that is.

The swimming pool is still closed. With luck, it may reopen tomorrow. I miss the exercise.
