We’re Lit UpYesterday we finally got our tree lit up and decorated with as much stuff as I intend to put on it. We picked up enough new and used ornaments at Goodwill to make it look relatively respectable. I really like the tiny low-energy multi-colored lights that don’t heat up. I thought I would continue the suspense by waiting to report until today. There are two or three keys on this notebook computer that are located in different spots than on my desktop keyboard. Trying to remember where they are is a good exercise for this tired old brain, but frustrating. We received many email reports yesterday and today from relatives and friends who lost power in our windstorm night before last. We were fortunate to have no trees down, and no loss of power. The lights dimmed a few times, but that’s all. In the nearly six months I’ve lived here, we have never had a power outage. There are branches and needles scattered around, but that’s all. The management provided a lovely luncheon for all the apartment dwellers here in King City yesterday. We didn’t win any of the door prizes, but enjoyed the food and the visit with new neighbors.
I’m trying to stay awake long enough to watch Jeopardy and then go for a swim. I didn’t take a nap today because I got up so late, but I may not make it without one. I’ve sure gotten spoiled in retirement.
