Happy 2007We had a good time last night at the local dance club party. A huge jazz band played music from the ‘40’s through the 60’s or 70’s and some really good dancers were on the floor along with those of us who are rusty and creaky. Floyd is in the former category and I’m definitely in the latter one. But I encouraged him to dance with some other gals, which he did. The band singer sat with us and danced with him several times. After the midnight celebration, the band played for probably another half hour, to my surprise. Since I forgot to thaw the beef for the nice dinner I?’ planned for today, we had leftover spaghetti. Floyd preferred that anyway, since he could eat it parked in front of the back-to-back football games. I used the time to work on the computers and do a couple of chores. During a half-time, we took down the Christmas tree and cleared away the mess. No swim today because of a scratchy throat. I hope it’s not the forerunner of a cold or some virus. I took a nap instead, although we slept late after being out so long last night. One of the last stories I need to write for my memoir collection is one I’ve been dreading and procrastinating about. I’m going to try to get it started tonight. It will be the story of my third marriage, the one I vowed would never happen after the second one ended so traumatically. But I guess we should all know enough to never say never. The Boise State/Oklahoma game just went into overtime. I happened to look up at the screen to see the last second touchdown play. Pretty exciting, even for a non-sports-fan. Time to wrap this up and watch the overtime play. < < back |
