I Wonder

A few years ago I noticed a lot of very small books in the stores with various themes. It occurred to me that I could assemble a little book of things I wonder about. My list of such things has grown over the years. Now I wonder about whether I’ll ever get such a collection put together.

In the second half of my 75th year, the thing I wonder about most is how much time I have left to complete all the projects I have planned. Memoirs are slowly growing in disjointed sections.

Other projects stay on back burners. I wonder how many back burners are allowed per person. I also wonder how long I’ll have energy to fire up those rear-of-the-stove burners. Will the pilot light grow too dim?

Even in the days when I had my palm read, or consulted a Tarot card reader, such questions were studiously avoided by the so-called seers. My crystal ball is cloudy, also.
