Short Trip

Today I made arrangements to travel to Northern Washington for the memorial service for my dear friend of many, many years. I will stop in Seattle, visit with a niece, and stay there Thursday night, then drive North on Friday morning. Friday night I will stay with a sister in Seattle. That way all my driving will be in daylight hours, the way I like it, and little or none of it will be in rush hour traffic. I’ll drive back home on Saturday.

Even though the trip is for a very sad reason, it will be good to see some people I don’t see often enough. I’m sure a number of school friends will be there. Another woman friend of more than sixty years duration, who is my sister’s sister-in-law, will be there I know. The last time I saw her was at the memorial service for her brother, my sister’s late husband, just a couple of months ago.

I hope to have more happy occasions for visits next year.
