Black Skirt Shopping Trip

Every once in a while, I run across a good bargain when I actually need the item that’s marked down. For the memorial service I’m attending on Friday, I wanted a black skirt. I have one black skirt, at least twenty years old, that is box pleated. I have been waiting in vain for box pleats to come back in style. Perhaps they did and I missed it.

So I walked into a store today, found a rack of skirts, tops and pants that were marked down 30%. Amazingly, there were several black bell shaped skirts. Two were in my size. On a recent fashion show I noticed that bell skirts are back in style. I had one ten or fifteen years ago that I really liked. It was navy blue, but I gave up waiting for it to come back in style and gave it away.

The best part about the new skirt is that it is wrinkle resistant. Traveling is hard on clothes and this garment promises to be a good traveler. As a test, I wadded it into a ball, and it shook out unwrinkled. My kind of clothing.

I would be delighted if I never had to pick up an iron again. Most of my clothes don’t require pressing, but tablecloths still seem to need an iron. Whatever happened to terry cloth tablecloths?
